This filter utilizes 13 differnt types of minerals such s far-infrared stone, marfan stone, muyu jade, clay, tourmaline, nano silver powder, kaolin earth, rare earth etc. All materials used has been safety tested in USA. A filter should last about 12 months but this will vary depending on use.
